About the Business Department

The business department teaches about accounting and financing. These subjects apply to everyday life, importantly how to manage money, help with retirement plans, and how to manage taxes. Basically, if students have trouble with getting started on what to do for paying for a car, a house, or leaving financial issues, business will be a helpful class for them. Challenges for this department, however, are the lack of students. There was no advertisement around the school for the classes either. Students that did join, which were a total of 25, dropped out from the class being too difficult.

Ms. Miller promises to work with kids the best she can to help them with the understanding. Her goal is to teach students how to be able to help with retirement, manage money well, and to be financially stable. Hopes for the future is to get students to understand the importance of money management and to get more involved to keep this department up and running since the competition for this elective is harsh.

Upcoming Projects

Special projects and upcoming events planned for the year in these classes was a H and R block stock market contest. The award was money for the school.

Students are also going to be able to participate in a stock simulation game, where they were able to work firsthand with the stock market.

About Ms. Miller

What makes Ms. Miller stand out is she is a very patient teacher that juggles around being a tennis coach, biology teacher, and head of business. She will help her students understand what they need to do or what the material is and take as long as she needs for their benefit.
